About Us

We are here to serve to the best of our ability and are prepared to combat not only the physical addiction, but the underlying causes and conditions. We are dedicated to the journey of recovery and healing for the whole person, mind, body and spirit, and welcome those who are ready to embark on the same journey and live a life free of substance abuse.

Our vision for the future includes the continued development of

  • A strong family treatment component made available to all of our patients. Individuals do not suffer addiction in a vacuum. They are part of a larger system. A healthy hopeful system insures a strong recovery environment. Further, MCAC is committed to
  • The extension of services to opiate addicted persons with psychiatric disorders. Self-medication is a key factor in chronic addictive behavior and
  • is committed to ongoing staff development in this area with the intent of expanding available services to reach more opiate addicted persons.

Many health professionals are not always familiar with addictive disease and the various forms of treatment, including methadone. In some cases, the reaction to methadone-maintained patients is based on fear, anger, prejudice, disgust, or other negative subjective responses, none of which contribute to quality healthcare. Patients are reluctant to provide information to health care professionals about their addiction and treatment with methadone because of previous bad experiences.
